Glass retainers are the safest and most professional way to keep your piercings in during an MRI, CT scan, ultrasound or operation. Made from lead-free borosilicate glass by Gorilla Glass — APP-approved and non-porous — they are non-metallic, completely neutral to the body, and accepted by medical staff where metal jewelry is not allowed.

We stock retainers for every piercing: nostril, labret, septum, curved piercings, navel, barbells and more. Available in clear glass and skin tone, so they stay as discreet as possible when you need to wear something but don't want it visible.

Inserting a retainer is straightforward and perfectly safe to do yourself at home with clean hands and a gentle touch. The trickier part is often removing your gold or titanium jewelry beforehand — if you need help with that, you're always welcome to come in. If your piercing is still healing or fresh, a retainer can still be used; just be extra gentle to avoid irritation during the change, and when in doubt, let your piercer handle it.

One thing to keep in mind: some piercings can swell during surgery, especially under general anaesthesia. Make sure you order the right length — when in doubt, go a size longer.
